EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Pam’s background as a college instructor and educational publishing executive gives her a unique perspective on the needs of our schools and students.

Pam Little

Meet Pam

Pam Little is a patriot, conservative, and community leader who has been honored to represent the students, educators, and taxpayers of District 12 on the State Board of Education since 2019. Pam currently serves as the Vice Chair of the SBOE.

Pam believes in public education and the importance of educating students to be responsible, patriotic and productive citizens. Her conservative values, demonstrated experience, honesty and common sense approach make her the clear choice for re-election to the Texas State Board of Education.

It would be Pam’s greatest honor to continue to serve the students, parents, educators and residents of District 12 as their voice on the Texas State Board of Education.

Native Texan

A native of the Lone Star State, Pam was raised in Bryan-College Station, where she later attended Texas A&M University, developing her passion for the spirit and principles of what it means to be an Aggie. Pam graduated from the University of Houston with her bachelor’s degree in social studies, minoring in business education.

Pam is a dependable public servant, proud Texan, and dedicated family woman who has found a home in North Texas. Pam married her high school sweetheart, Larry, over 40 years ago and is a proud mother of 2 and grandmother of 4. Just like Pam, her children have deep roots in Collin County, with both being graduates of Plano and McKinney public schools.

Pam and Larry Little

Business Owner

Pam understands the importance of entrepreneurship and business development in our state, as well as the role education plays in this important area. Pam and her husband started Ace Fence Company over 40 years ago in Houston, growing the small business from their garage into one of the largest fencing companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. With Pam and Larry Little guidance, Ace Fence Company has created over 200 jobs. Her experience as a small business owner has given Pam the firsthand business knowledge of career and technology courses that we need in our schools.

Professional Life

From a young age, Pam’s parents instilled in her an understanding of the importance of education. Pam believes that education is the greatest force in our community that allows people to become better citizens and more active participants in their communities. Her love and passion for education has helped shape her life and career decisions and put her on course to make education her career.

Pam worked as a college instructor and taught business courses at North Harris County Community College, helping students develop the skills and knowledge they needed to become the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs. She went on to work as an educational publishing executive and retired as regional vice president of Houghton Mifflin Publishers, further developing her passion for education.

Through her work at Houghton Mifflin Publishers, Pam participated firsthand in the development of instructional materials to meet state standards. This experience allowed Pam to gain an in-depth knowledge of the state standards of all curriculum areas, as well as where further improvements are needed to improve Texas’ robust educational system.
